If you were in an accident and were injured and bleeding and nearly unconscious, would you really care about the race of the person who saved your life? Whereas African American nurses in the past were rejected by white patients who didn't want a "Negro" working on them, our children are living in a time where racial prejudice in that degree is nearly non-existant. So where are the African American doctors and nurses in our hospitals? We are in need of healthcare and emergency care. How do we inspire our children to choose careers in healthcare?
