You drink to excess, but you're a functional alcoholic, so your family learns to tolerate your occasional drunkenness. You gamble, but every now and then you win, so your family learns to swallow it when you lose your paycheck every now and then. You get a kick out of still being able to attract women at your age, but your wife chooses to look the other way at the obvious signs of your occasional infidelity.  You like go on big shopping sprees, which keeps your bank account overdrawn, but your husband has learned to just quietly cover the overdrafts when he gets paid. The doctor has warned you over and over about your weight and the resulting diabetes and heart condition, but you shovel in junk food at every opportunity, even when your family tries to encourage you to eat healthier.  Your self destructive behavior may be a sign that you are struggling with major issues of low self esteem. You may have heard negative things about yourself all during childhood, and now you simply don't love yourself. How do you change a negative self image and stop self destructive habits? We'll talk about what to do to change what you think about yourself. Later on, we'll be joined by Kai El Zabar, Editor in Chief of The Chicago a Defender Newspaper. She'll discuss how this paper helped African Americans improve their self for more than 100  years.
