Conversations about ending poverty always conclude with the realization that local residents need to become entrepreneurs and create their own economic opportunities. The question is "How we turn employees into business owners with the skill and confidence to turn creative ideas into money making enterprises?" Our guests today are Michael Perkins and Ken Atwood, founders of the Business Empowerment Zone. They offer strategic solutions for small business owners and entrepreneurs that enhance growth through personal and business referrals. They are committed to providing resources to business owners that keep them connected to their community.
Michael is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago and a current active supporter of "I'M My Brother's Keeper". He has supported numerous organizations throughout the years, has mentored numerous students and young adults in the Chicago land area and intends to use his platform with The Business Empowerment Zone to connect with other socially conscious entrepreneurs to help strengthen families, businesses and communities. Michael specializes in assisting entrepreneurs with starting and growing their business networks with an emphasis on economic empowerment. He also assists them with building an active supportive customer base.
