Decades ago young people participated in sit ins, rallies and protest marches to secure the right to vote and use unsegregated public accommodations. Today young people are posting videos of rallies on Facebook, e-mailing organization meeting notices and Tweeting their political candidate choices, able to share ideas with hundreds, even thousands in a matter of moments. Youth have at their fingertips today the most sophisticated communication systems imaginable. How are they using these tools to build a national movement for political empowerment?
