In one of his last acts before leaving office, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn finally issued a pardon for Johnnie Savory, taken from school at age 14 and wrongfully imprisoned for 30 years for a murder he didn't commit. Denied the DNA testing for years, a test that would have exonerated him immediately, Mr. Savory has been waiting for the past five years since his release to have his name cleared. The question is, did Governor Quinn issue a full pardon? And what are the ramifications of the State admitting its guilt in allowing a 14 year old boy to be framed for murder? Will a lawsuit need to be filed to recover damages? And how many of the innocent are still languishing behind bars, unable to get justice?
