Church pastors across the country have taken their congregations to the streets to stop traffic in protest of the decision in the choking death of Eric Garner in New York. People across the world have engaged in protest demonstrations, holding up signs saying "I Can't Breathe".  Prominent sports figures are publicly wearing T Shirts that say "I Can't Breathe", the famous last words of Eric Garner. On Sunday members have been asked to wear all black, a sign of mourning for those unjustly killed by police. Strong symbols of solidarity with the families of the slain young men, but what do we do next? What legislation needs to be passed to actually stop the killing - not just march in protest of it? How do we REMOVE officers from the police force who commit murder? How about a law that states police officers must live in the NEIGHBORHOOD that they police, and must study the poll sheets and know their neighbors personally? Police officers: If the intention is really to serve and protect, unless you personally know the people you're protecting, you're really just harassing innocent citizens in order to meet an arrest quota. What laws and guidelines need to be put in place to train police as public safety officials and not trained killers?
