The police in Ferguson are gearing up for a riot in anticipation of the Grand Jury's decision regarding whether to charge Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown. The parents of Michael Brown are urging protesters to remain peaceful regardless of the outcome. But if there is no charge against Darren Wilson, should citizens be content to do nothing? Police killings of innocent citizens has reached outrageous proportions and some believe that unless the community reacts strongly, the killings will continue. Would rioting discourage future police brutality or will riots only encourage more incidents of violence toward citizens by overzealous police? How else should the community respond? What should the Federal Government do to bring the peace to a broken city where too many people feel hostility and distrust of the police?
