Rev. Charles Koen, Cairo, Illinois activist, has been held in jail on trumped up charges for too long, say members of a committee working to set him free. His work as a community organizer, a political activist, and a champion of the rights of the oppressed is the real reason he was arrested and jailed, his supporters say. They add his list to a long list of men and women violated by the Criminal Justice system in America, as they plan rallies and marches to protest his incarceration, with the hopes of calling attention to the crisis of political prisoners still being held in jails throughout the U.S. The Committee hopes to take the case of Rev. Charles Koen to the U.N. and protest the abuse of his human rights.
