This Memorial Day we are honoring three special members of our cultural community who made their transition from this physical life and have joined the ancestors. Though they were Chicagoans, they were connected to the global community in vision and in spirit. Rasheed Akbar, Producer, Nahgeree Sutton-Silas, Dancer, and Sam Greenlee, writer, are three memorable personalities whose spirits embodied the higher consciousness of cultural awareness of ones own history and a commitment to the uplift meant of humanity through the arts. Can a conscious artist be the catalyst for a social revolution? Three socialactivists examine the impact of the arts on the raising of social consciousness.
