Citizens across the U.S. have expressed outrage at the verdict in the Jacksonville Florida murder trial of Michael Dunn for the killing of unarmed teenager Jordan Davis. Although convicted of three counts of second degree murder, the charge of first degree murder resulted in a hung jury. Again the "stand your ground law" defense was used as an excuse for Michael Dunn, a middle aged white man, for killng Jordan Davis, an unarmed teenager sitting in his car playing music, which Michael Dunn complained was too loud. Now, many are calling for a boycott of Florida, one of 23 states with Stand Your Ground Laws, which many say are just a mask for racists to use to kill blacks under the guise that they "felt threatened." How would such a boycott really affect the State of Florida? How would it be conducted? What services would people stop purchasing? How would an economic backlash affect the average Florida citizen? Could this really pressure lawmakers to repeal "Stand Your Ground" laws?
