Is American Culture Finally Leaning More Toward Interracial Harmony?

You can learn a lot about a culture from simply watching commercials. This weekend's Superbowl commercials seemed to echo a similar theme - harmony among people, Peace on Earth,Love, not War.  Is American culture finally evolving toward a more humane society? What are some of the forces that could be steering it in that direction? How can we help to manifest this thought of peace and equality in our economic policies, in order to end the distress of the unemployed underclass?
