Winners of the recent PUSH Excel & Illinois Judicial Council Oratorical Contest "Reclaiming Our Youth 2013" reflect on the words of their speeches, the impact of the contest in inspiring them toward further social activism, and the current state of education in preparing U.S. students for helpful contribution to world affairs. Eight grader Parsia Hedayat and Ninth grader Janeicia Williams both recited portions of Rev Jesse Jackson's 1994 Democratic Convention Speech. The students discuss the impact of imprinting this historic speech on their minds and hearts, and reflect on their responsibilities as members of the younger generation to move their peers toward world peace.
