In Today's Society, Why Should A Man Get Married?

The statistics for marriages that end in divorce are dismal: Current stats report that 62 percent of American marriages end in divorce, and the numbers are rising. Men have seen their fathers kicked out of the house when they lose a job, arrested by police in domestic squabbles, and publicly berated by their wives in a manner that is humiliating. Men are afraid of marriage. They don't have a problem finding sexual partners, so sex is not a reason to marry a woman,so the current philosophy goes. Men have not experienced the benefits of a harmonious partnership or joint ownership of property or even co-parenting of children with women they love and respect. So what's the point of getting married? With so many male religious leaders caught in sex scandles, who has the moral authority to discuss marriage as a means of protecting a woman's honor and dignity? Famliy structure is disintegrating as more children are born out of wedlock or raised in single parent female headed households, people aren't learning how to function as part of a family unit. Marriage is the foundation for the family and the roots of society. But, given the fact thatf 62% of marriages today end in divorce, why should a man get married?
