When daughters become mothers before they are emotionally or financially prepared to handle the job, sometimes families become frustrated and angry at the pregnant teen, seeing the new life she is bringing into the world as a burdon and an inconvenience.  Are we creating a hostile environment for a baby to enter this world?  Are we punishing the teenager by our rejection of the baby? What impact is this having on the unborn child? Do we believe we are "discouraging" our daughters from getting pregnant again if we respond with anger at the first pregnancy? What should our response be? How do we involve the father of the child? How do we help the young mother become a good mother, even though she is still emotionally a child herself? What is the impact of telling our daughters they made a "mistake"? Can any life be a "mistake"? How do we provide the emotional and financial support our daughters need as mothers?
