Statisics show that one in three African American males has been or will be involved with the Criminal Justice system in the United States at some point in their lives. Why is there just us in the justice system? Is it a trap that we can never get out of? How do we end a cycle of unemployment, committing a crime, incarceration, release, unemployment, committing a crime, and reincarceration? What of those who have served time and cannot be cleared for release because of records that insist they are dangerous even if they are not? How do we stop being criminalized by the criminal justice system? What do we do to change the system? Can we dismantle the prison system and address corrrection of wrongdoing in a more effective way?
