Divorce is never pleasant. Couples who once loved each other and pledged "Til death do we part" are now angry, disappointed and hurt that the marriage is over. Sometimes there are bitter disputes over property and custody of children. Sometimes there is violence between them. Family members on both sides, some of whom may have become close friends with each other, are deeply affected when a marriage breaks apart.  Family gatherings are awkward when the ex couple must both be in attendance, expecially if there is still intense anger.  If your ex remarries and brings the new spouse to a family gathering, how will that affect you emotionally? Can you forgive your ex for whatever was done that led to the breakup? Can you and your ex become friends?
