If Your Child Is Planning Violence, Could You See The Signs?

Young people who commit horrendous acts of violence - mass shootings, gang retaliation shootings, stabbings, beatings - show signs of trouble ahead of time, yet parents always seem to miss the warnings. How attuned are you to your child? Would you see the signs if your child was involved in a plan to commit a violent act? Do you even know your child's friends and associates? Do you know the parents in the homes where your child visits? If your child is a young adult, have you totally removed yourself from their lives? Every child that commits a violent act is connected to a family somewhere. Are all the families of these young people dysfunctional or are they simply disconnected?
