We first begin talking about Cimate change in regards to Calif. fires and the parachute salaries of Sears Corporation while it is being restructured in bankruptcy court.

We then segway to a heavy handed discussion on nationalism, international agendas and policy making in correlation to APEC the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation agreements and recent meeting in Papau New Guinea.

We then debate and challenge Jon's attack on socialism and relate what the objective goals were in the Nazi party in Germany in 1930s and how that transformed into a violent revolution. Trump's ideology of ideal American citizens are juxtaposed against the wall concept to contain undesirables.  An explosion of violence could occur with this new wave of unhealthy nationalism. Ben challenges the immigrant caravan attempting to enter our country with the mantra of a Honduras flag.  Jane used the Hungarian uprising of 1956 agst. Russia and how the Hungarians try to free themselves as a satellite country under the Russian sphere of influence. Europe tolerated Russian abuse of civil rights. She relates that to the Post WWII doctrine of communist containment.  Both Americans and Europeans, through colonialism and anti communist war policies, allowed many of their own soldiers to die in Korea and Vietnam by trying to control the outcome of government self determination.  The American doctrine of containment was deeply flawed, resulting in mass loss and death.  Vietnam emancipated beyond European, Western goals of dominance.
