An artist for over 25 years with illustrations appearing in The Atlantic, The Boston Globe and Time Magazine, Cat Bennett will explore the profound gifts of making art a practice, encouraging artists to venture freely on the creative path without concern for end results. Cat will also reveal how we all can unleash our creativity, freeing the artist within.

Cat's new book is Making Art a Practice: 30 Ways to Paint a Pipe (How to Be the Artist You Are). A recent review in Publisher's Weekly beautifully captures the message Cat conveys: "...she likens the creative process and its many facets to a spiritual voyage and a lifelong exercise in self-awareness, acceptance, and compassion.  Her approach makes the lessons and philosophy of this book applicable to all artists and readers."

Cat also wrote the inspiring book The Confident Creative: Drawing to Free the Hand and Mind, recipient of a 2011 Nautilus Book Awards Gold Medal.

Cat has worked for many high profile clients and has exhibited in group shows in Boston, New York, Montreal and Tokyo. She has made short animation films for Sesame Street, Nickelodeon and a variety of non-profits. She appeared recently on a Huffington Post Live broadcast. She leads the Saturday Morning Drawing Club in Boston.
