Why does being rejected seem to have such a powerful effect on some people? Why do people get rejected and get upset about someone that they have seen move on, even if the person has moved on in a negative way? Does that make any sense? On one hand, they may feel like the story would have turned out better if they had been the chosen one, instead of the person that was chosen. On the other hand, sometimes people get upset that they weren't chosen to be part of the story, regardless of how the story played out? Like: Oh, you'll cheat on your wife and have a baby with her, but not with me?! Get it?
