You pay your taxes and you make sure that you follow the rules of the state. How's it working out for you? The people who pay the least taxes are the ones who are rich. Does that makes sense to you? More than likely, you pay taxes based on the way that your job is set up. Many time when you work for a company, you don't have a lot of control over the way that your taxes are paid, unless you know how to manipulate your taxes. 

Look at crime. It seems like people get away with comiting crimes for a long time before they get caught and have to pay the price for the crimes they have comitted. Major corporations get away with financial crimes all the time, but do they suffer the same consquences as the average tax-paying citizen does?
