Many Black people will agree that spanking is an accepted form of punishment in our community but most of us are in denial of the long lasting effects that severe beatings by parents can have. Child abuse in the Black community is real and it's time that we deal with that reality and get a better understanding of how it can effect our emotional development.

This is where Tanisha A. Cunningham? who is the author of the book A Rose Can't Grow In A Garden Of Weeds comes in.
On Wednesday we will review her very revealing autobiography that is sure to engage and enlighten all who follow her life story. Some of the highlights of this show will deal with:

Physical and emotional child abuse in the Black community.

Foster Care. Corruption issues, abuse, and advocacy.

Group Home violence and at risk youth labeling.

Perseverance from turmoil against all odds.

Tanisha's book is an astounding personal account of the many struggles that a young person may have to overcome just to be able to be functional in the world. There is a good chance that there is a little bit of  our story in every chapter of her work. Her story is extremely candid, easy to understand and has a very personal feel to it that almost forces the reader to feel where she is coming from and want to cheer her on. It's a great read and this Wednesday we will break it on down.

Please pick up the book that you won't be able to put down: A Rose Can't Grow In A Garden Of Weeds by Tanisha A Cunningham on www.amazon.com and visit her website at www.tanishacunningham.com. Your life will be changed for the better and you will not be disappointed.
