Are Suburban schools better than City schools?

I think this will surprise a lot of you. It is a long held belief that all suburban schools are so much better than inner city schools. Is it true though? Have you fed into this? Have you moved your kids to the burbs to give them a better chance? Did it work? Have you ever faked an address to get you kids into a better district? Do you have any experiences concerning this? Let's not leave private schools out of this because they factor into this also. Friends schools, prep schools, Kafflic (Catholic) schools, etc. It's time for everyone to share their experience with their education whether it's personal or with their children.
