Thistle Farms, located in Nashville, Tennessee, is a powerful community of women who have survived prostitution, trafficking, and addiction. The organization employs more than 50 survivors through their societal enterprises, which include a natural body care company, Thistle Stop Café, artisan studio, and Shared Trade, a global market place. Thistle Farms provides education and training annually through speaking events and immersion workshops. Thistle Farms includes a two-year residential program and advocacy services for up to 700 women yearly.
Event Coordinator Dorris Walker is a survivor who endured multiple rapes and near death experiences on the streets of Nashville for 26 years. Grateful for the love and healing she found at Thistle Farms, Dorris is dedicated to paying forward the love she has received by speaking out for women around the world who have yet to find their way home.
Join host Patti Shene on Step Into the Light Tuesday, April 19th at 8:00 AM MDT, when she will interview Dorris. Dorris will share the history, mission, and structure of Thistle Farms and how the power of love brings hurting women from the darkness of despair into the light of healing and hope.
