Actually, Allah created us to be self-rulers; kings and queens responsible for our individual lives - individuals who willingly join other like-minded people to form democracies to protect our collective community life.

It is through our salat (Islamic prayer) that we are properly placed us on our thrones of individual and collective responsibilities. 

Al-Qur'an, chapter 2: verse 152, "Then do ye remember Me; I will remember you. Be grateful to Me, and reject not Faith."
