As the statistics accrue from the devastation of COVID-19; the novel Coronavirus, it is clear that African Americans make up the largest number of those infected as well as those who are dying from this disease.

The same is true for HIV-AIDS and tragedies such as Hurricane Katrina and other challenges to humanity; repeatedly and historically African Americans suffer the worse. The long list of African Americans suffering continues whether it is homicides, high blood pressure, diabetes and other medical and social ills.

COVID-19 is no respecter of race, religion, gender or ethnicity; yet we know that people who are already medically and physically compromised suffer the most.

Politically, socially -- even religiously -- are African Americans...
