Most people know about the Honorable Elijah Muhammad as the leader of the Nation of Islam (NOI), a quasi-Islamic community that focused on rebuilding broken African Americans. His unorthodox teachings are often a topic of discussion; however, WORDS MAKE PEOPLE will take a look at the many little known ways in which Mr. Elijah Muhammad was very close to the life model and teachings of Prophet Muhammed (the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets) who lived over 1,400 years ago.

Joining us is Imam Abdul Karim (A.K.) Hassan who was a member in the original NOI under Elijah Muhammad and also is a student of Imam W. Deen Mohammed. Imam Hassan has many years of experience as a follower of Elijah Muhammad and as a follower of Prophet Muhammed.

You may be surprised at the numerous ways that Elijah Muhammad’s leadership was very much in line with the Qur’an and the example of the Prophet Muhammed (prayers and peace be upon him). For example The Hon. Elijah Muhammad introduced the 5 salats (Islamic prayers) to his community in 1957.
