Roderick S. Bashir served as Vice President of the Service Employees International Union, Local 1 in Chicago. In 2009 Illinois Governor Pat Quinn appointed Mr. Bashir to the Illinois Finance Authority and in 2010 to the Illinois State Board of Investment where he served as Vice Chair from 2013 to 2015.  

Rod earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Illinois State University and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Roosevelt University.
