Since the fateful day of June 17, 2015 when nine faithful worshipers were assassinated by a racially sick man in Charleston, C.C. there has been many much long overdue conversations that resulted in the changing of laws, namely the removal of the Confederate flag from many public places. Yet a deeper conversation surrounding racial imagery in religion still needs to take place says Imam Omar Shaheed, the Resident Imam of Masjid As-Salaam in Columbia, S.C.

Join Words-Make-People this Sunday July 26, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. EST for a lengthy conversation with Imam Omar Shaheed. He has been the imam of Masjid As-Salaam since 1980 and he is active with interfaith activities in the Columbia area.
