This is your host Michael Saahir of Indianapolis, IN. Listen to our blog-talk radio show WORDS MAKE PEOPLE on Sunday April 26, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. (EST) for an insightful discussion titled: “MUSLIMS AND THE OBSERVATION OF MEMORIAL DAY”

Our Special Guest, Imam Talib Shareef, is a retired Chief Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force after 30 years, and holds a Masters of Business Administration from American Intercontinental University, a Diploma from the Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University. Imam Shareef is a student of the late Imam W.D. Mohammed, Muslim-American Spokesman for Humanity.

On more than one occasion President Obama recognized the importance of Islam in America’s history. In February of this year he said, "Islam has been woven into the fabric of our country since its founding." Earlier in his presidency President Obama said, "I also know that Islam has always been a part of America’s story,”

This Memorial Sunday (May 24, 2015) will discuss the role that Muslim Veterans have fulfilled dating back to the American Revolution and every war since then. We also will address many of the hot-button issues that cause many of our fellow Americans misunderstandings of Al-Islam and their Muslim neighbor.
