COMMEMORATING JUNETEENTH-June 19, 1865

Your host, Viyahta welcoms Lynn and Prestess Yogini Nurahdina to discuss the importance of Juneteenth day, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day. The significance of June 19, 1865 is the emancipation of the last remaining enslaved people and the official end to slavery in America.  The community of Sierra Vista, Arizona is making history as they celebrate this date for the whole month of June.  It is a Juneteenth Flag Ceremony that's bringing many citizens together to commemorate this important event.
