Courage~

“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.”
― Mark Twain

“Courage is found in unlikely places.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien

Courage is a word that defies logic and reason. The ability to be Brave comes from a place in the soul that says that 'This is a point of no return, where I cannot go past this place without taking a stand for my principles, even though it kills me'!

What is tha basis for this kind of courage? If you ask a soldier why they did what they did to sustain a grievous wound that changed their life forever, they will never tell you they did it for the medal pinned to their hospital gown, or for any fame that might have come along in the aftermath. They will tell you that is was for the love of their fellow soldiers that would have died if he had not intervened with his body, mind and spiirt, even to death.

Is it courage for a father to jump in front of a speeding car in order o through his child from it's path, and be killed?

Is it courage for a mother to stand before the school Principle, and demand that those students that are bullying her daughter be stopped, even when the bullies are children of the wealthy or famous?

Courage, bravery, are only ever exhibited at times of deep stress and pain, when the choices for recourse are "Do, or don't Do, there is no try!" When a situation is at it crux, and there is no other way but forward, or death.

No one is brave without a reason beyond their own lives.

And THIS is why jesus did what He did in providing a way for the people of His Righteous Kingdom of God to gain a pathway to eternal life, Jesus did not die a horrible death to provide grace for someone that simply 'believed' that He exists to save them. jesus died to prove their worth, because they are righteous in fact as is He, by keeping His Words.
