The Bible On Trial

One of my wifes favorite meme's is, "Dear Lord, give me patience; and I want it RIGHT NOW!"

Now while this is funny on the surface, there is a great deal of truth in it, because many people in todays hectic, electronic filled, 'must have right now' and fast paced world want what ever it is they want right at the moment they want it. They feel that they might miss a 'golden opportunity' to post something on Face Book that will incite envy in their friends, and even total strangers who read the story of their lives in real time.

But I also know that most of us that have even a little bit of life experience realize that patience is only adhieved through applied adversity, and delayed gratification.  So if we ask for patience from God there may be some challenge or hardship that comes as a result of that asking, which will lead to that very thing for which we have asked. If you truly want the patience of God you will have to endure the trials of life just long enough to overcome that which is standing in the way of you finding the truth.

Rev 3:10  Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.
