SciFriday: The Guardians of Reality

A group of social network giants and major media outlets announced this week that they're forming a coalition called First Draft News. The goal of the new organization is to "filter out online misinformation and improve news quality on social networks."

This is how public opinion is shaped by elites: We are presented choices, from our political candidates to the types of food we eat (fat bad, sugar good!), but those choices are often pre-screened and pre-selected. The perceived freedom we have on the Internet gives us the illusion of free will--a mockery of the free will with which God created us.
