Jay Jones was born and raised in "The Birthplace of Rock n Roll," so it should come as no surprise that music is a big part of his life. Growing up Jay participated in plays and musicals in school and church. After school he began working in nightclubs and bars in the Memphis area. He moved to St. Thomas USVI Ft. Lauderdale and Jacksonville FLA. working in bars and clubs there as well before moving back to Memphis in 2002. After years in the clubs and bars he and his family put their knowledge to use and opened their own bar in 2008. In the years that followed he met alot of local musicians and would frequently sit in with them while performing.

In 2012 they decided it was time to close the family business. He was then approached to join a band that had played numerous times at his bar. Later that year in August he became the lead singer/ frontman for The Nuttin Fancy Band.
