Ra’chel’s journey began on January 29, 2017 after years of getting denied opportunities due to her image, as she had topped the scale at 291 lbs. The songstress did not let the negativity deter her, instead using this to fuel her passion. She wanted to live a healthier lifestyle to help increase her onstage performance, reduce stress and more importantly, increase her self-esteem, as she also battled with lymphedema.

She began by changing her diet, watching her caloric intake and exercising twice a day. Within the first month, Ra'chel had lost almost 20 pounds; she lost a total of 40 pounds by the end of her second month. It was at that point that she set a goal for herself of losing 100 pounds. Ra'chel has lost 124 lbs. to date and caught the attention of People Magazine, which featured her on their cover as well as in a full-page spread highlighting her journey.

Ready to once again focus on her music career, Ra’chel will be releasing her next single “The Harvest” as well as an accompanying music video on October 2. “The Harvest” is the first single from her forthcoming EP, scheduled for releaseDecember 4. The song, written by Ra’chel herself was produced by Shaq D.
