S07/E25: GUN CONTROL DEBATE- Rights versus Responsibility

The 2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees the right to bare arms. About a third of American adults say they personally own a gun. At the same time, rising gun deaths and mass shootings raise serious concerns in communites across the country. With gun ownership comes responsibility. Gun owners need to take steps to ensure their guns are used responsibly and locked up safely when not in use. Red flag laws, comprehensive background checks and gun insurance liability are necessary if we want to have a safer America. Too many are dying because of gun violence as Republicans are owned by the National Rifle Association (NRA), who care nothing about protecting the innocent from gun violence. All they care about is making sales of assault rifles and boosting their financial bottom line. We can't go on like this.

Thanks for joining us tonight as we delve deeper in the gun control debate. Gun violence is a deadly epidemic of epic proportions. We will look at the latest statistics, regional and demographic diffrences, legislative and policy context, research and advocacy, and give sources so you can look into to further educate yourself about gun violence in America. We are not calling for the repeal of the 2nd Amendment. Profit over people's lives (children especially) is disgraceful as it is disgusting. You need to do better!
