"Why?"

This is a question kids ask all the time.  For those of us who have children, it may be easy to tell them, 'Because I said so." or "Not now." or give some pat answers. 'Why' questions that children are opportunities for communication, for teaching, and for connecting. This was something my guest today wanted to do. In her own words: I wanted to create a tool that would help me encourage my kids to ask their questions because I want them to know that they matter to me, and their questions matter too. That's why I created the My Why Journal.

My Why Journal is not only the key to opening the door of communication and building strong relationships with our children, but a beautiful keepsake to treasure for a lifetime. In the business of life, we often find ourselves giving our children short answers to the many questions that they ask us. Sometimes, if the questions are too difficult or the timing isn’t right, we shut them down completely. But that doesn’t make the question go away. These questions they ask and the  answers they receive to even the smallest inquiries are building blocks to the foundation of learning and moreso, to having great relationships with our children, even as they get older.

Parents, the days are long, the questions are tedious, but the years are short and our answers matter!
