As of this writing there have been 2.83 million cases of COVID-19 confirmed worldwide. The U. S. tops the chart in all areas.

It's common knowledge that the states have implemented quarantine procedures in order to mitigate the spread of the pandemic.  For the U. S., in particular churches, there is a divide.

This was illustrated during the Easter holiday. Some churches defied state executive orders and assembled by the hundreds. With a righteous anger, they willingly accepted the imposition of punitive fines, As one commentator was quoted as saying, "The President is not my God." Not to mention, Hebrews 10:25 which reads: "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

Others choose alternative methods such as virtual services, staying isolated and waiting it out. The divide is filled with ridicule as those who defy executive orders wag their fingers in shame to those who choose to obey them.

The reverse is also true as those who choose to self-quarantine shake their head, possibly citing Romans 13: 1-2 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

For believers, it centers around the question, 'Does God approve of the quarantine?"

Let's chat and talk about it with my returning guest co-host Bill Fortenberry of Increasing Learning April 25th at 2:00 PM Eastern time. You can call in at 646-668-8485 and press 1 to be live on air.
