Preparing for this show, I wanted to see what kind of image I can use to symbolize a wife of valor. Several came to mind but then two images tossed themselves back and forth until I settled on one -- the Scandinavian shieldmaiden.
According to some, there's no evidence of women who were trained to fight in war. I disagree. In fact, I'm sure there have been women of all ethnicities down through the ages till today who have picked up the sword, the axe, gun or whatever weapon handy to defend their lands, their homes, themselves, and their children. A wife of valor is not a weak woman...she is just as strong and tenacious as her husband, wielding her sword side by side or back to back, using her God-given strengths to defeat the enemy.
What is in the arsenal of the wife of valor? What tactics and strategies should she use in her fight for the unity of marriage and home? What advantages does she have to work in tandem with her husband?
