We are living in the final days of the old Roman Empire my friends. Those days when the Caesars ran things with iron fists and whim; while the people lined up for free bread and entertainment. Hence that saying "bread and circuses". Any of you who ever read the Bible or watched old gladiator films, may not realize that those events were free entertainment for the Roman people. 

In our modern America, we keep ourselves busied with "important things" such as: professional sports, college sports, high school sports, any and every activity for our kids (allegedly "to keep them off the streets & off drugs"), television shows, online games, shopping (both online and offline), and the list goes on ad naseum. 

Families eat pre-packaged meals, often prepared by microwave, while sitting in front of the TV. Neither Mom or Dad has any idea how to cook from scratch, nor any clue what half the items are in the produce section of the local grocery store. They wouldn't even know what to do with them if they could name them. For most of us, if potatoes and rice didn't come in a box, we wouldn't eat them. What fresh fruit and veggies we DO buy are usually pre-washed, cut, and packaged for us. 

Ladies and gentlemen - we have well and truly become what our Forefathers feared - Complacent. We've allowed that precious Liberty for which they gave all, to slip away. All so that we can run a little online farm...
