Expect the Unexpected

In Isaiah 35, we have a beautiful prophecy about the Messiah and his saving work. In his first coming, our Lord comes to quench our spiritual thirst. He comes to go to the cross. Today, we see John the Baptist in prison. He had some doubts about whether Jesus was the promised Messiah. This can happen to us, too. We have unreal expectations about God and how he operates. But the Word can teach us the truth of God's kingdom. By faith, we learn about God's grace, mercy and deliverance.
