In 1 Corinthians 3:9, The Apostle Paul likens the believers to Farmers and Builders! Just like the physical growth when a person passes the childhood age to become productive, God requires a born-again believer to be productive!
The Apostle Peter uses the analogy of the "Milk," and the "Meat!" In 1 Peter 2:2 KJV, he says this: "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby." But, that baby does NOT always stay a baby depending on milk for his growth if he/she does something is not right, and he stays mature!
In 2 Corinthians 3:18, Paul reminds the Carnal Christians of the Corinthian Church that, they need to be growing and changing to the image of Christ day by day! So, when ultimately, someday we look in a mirror, we see Christ's face, instead of our own face!
