The Relationship Between the Heart and Character is mentioned all throughout the pages of the Bible! Before God Uses Our Gifts and Talents, He Checks Our Hearts! Psalm 119:7, 17, 19 KJV.
Of course, the LORD is not expecting us to have a strong character, without a solid spiritual heart without feeding daily on God's Word. Isaiah reminded us of this concept in Isaiah 28:9-10 KJV " Whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? They are weaned from the milk and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon the line; line upon the line; here a little and there a little.."
The Apostle Paul expresses it like this, in 2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV. " But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."
