"You may think you can live fine without Christ, but you cannot afford to die without Him!" C.H Spurgeon.
Let’s consider, Colossians 2:9, “For in him [The Lord Jesus] dwelleth all the [FULLNESS] of the [GODHEAD] bodily.” The word translated, “Godhead” here is (theotees), which in Greek means “Deity.” and not “divinity,” as some have translated it! It does not refer to the manifestation of Christ in His external acts, but refers to His essential nature. The same in John 1:1c, “ …And the Word was God.” the word for, ”GOD” is the original Greek, (theos) which actually means God, and not (theios) which means “divine” as has been translated wrongly! So to say, “…And the Word was “divine!” The Lord Jesus did not merely have “divine” attributes, but He was God in His essence and nature and by His omnipotent power, took upon Himself the nature of man and by His omnipresence He was both in heaven and on earth the same time, see: John 3:13b, “ …even the Son of man which IS in heaven.” (He said this while standing on earth). And John 14:17b, “…for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” In this verse, He gave the Apostles the promise of the Holy Spirit (Himself in Trinity as Spirit)! Isaiah 7:14b, “…and shall call [His] name Im-man’-uel.” Matthew 1:23b, “…AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME EM-MAN-‘-UEL, which being interpreted is, GOD WITH US.”
