Listen to the Mon. July 13, 2020 special edition of the Pan-African Journal: Worldwide Radio Broadcast hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire. The program features our PANW report with dispatches on the recent death of South African Ambassador to Denmark Zenzi Mandela, the youngest daughter of African National Congress (ANC) leaders and former government officials President Nelson and "Mother of the Nation" Winnie Mandela; the World Health Organization (WHO) has briefed the international community from Geneva on the escalating COVID-19 pandemic; people in Mali have taken to the streets demanding the resignation of President Keita; and the struggle against racism in the United States has generated renewed repression by local and federal police agencies. In the second hour we will cover the responses to the passing of Ambassador Zenzi Mandela from struggle stalwarts and journalists. In addition, there is a report on the mass demonstrations in the West African state of Mali against the current president. Finally, we hear an extensive briefing from WHO Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on the continuing threat of the global pandemic.
