Hey gang.
Let's get into a little Morning Wine Cellar

According to a 2017 study by Pay Our Interns, just 8% of House Republicans and 4% of House Democrats pay their interns at all. The Senate fares a bit better, with 51% of Senate Republicans paying interns and 31% among Senate Democrats.

However, according to The Hill, both chambers recently received funds to pay interns in appropriations bills in 2018, set to take effect in 2019. According to NBC News, the mini-spending package, passed by Congress and signed into law by President Donald Trump in September, includes $8.8 million for the House of Representatives to pay their interns (up to $20,000 per House member for each calendar year), and $5 million for paid interns in the Senate.

Jennifer Hing, a spokeswoman for Republicans on the House Appropriations Committee, told the news outlet that the money is already available to offices now.
