Adkins is a life-long learner who holds several academic degrees including: a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Virginia Commonwealth University; a Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond, School of Law; a Master of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University and; a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University with a clinical counseling concentration.
