1.       Give new life to or energy for a better state 

Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. - Living Soul in man 

Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. – There is a spirit in man

Zec 12:1 The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. – God forms spirit in man

2 Esdras 3:5 And gavest a body unto Adam without soul, which was the workmanship of thine hands, and didst breathe into him the breath of life, and he was made living before thee. – Adam had a body no soul

Job 34:14-15 If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath; :15 All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust. -  Gather back his spirit flesh back to dust

Ecc 8:8 There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it. – Nobody has power to keep his spirit
