Dr. Mara Karpel is a psychologist for the elderly, caregivers and veterans and has been practicing for over 30 years. She authored the best seller The Passionate Life: Creating Vitality & Joy At Any Age, is host of Blog Talk Radio Show Dr. Mara Karpel and Your Golden Years and a regular blogger on Medium.

She was able to stand strong against medical gaslighting for her Mom when they tried to force her into accepting her Mom was at deaths door - she wasn't.  She lived years longer.  Mara advocated for her Mom and organized a virtual Family Council in the long-term care community so that family members had a voice in improving the quality of life for all residents.  She is a warrior who stands up for the vulnerable.

People deserve and are entitled to compassion, respect and protection and have the right to be free from abuse, neglect, mistreatment and gaslighting but that isn't happening. Hospice was for actively dying to minimize pain but today almost anyone qualifes to enroll and are given one size fits all drugs that is killing them with no knowledge or consent.
